1. Gener8tor
Yep, that’s an “8” in the middle. This is a nationally known startup accelerator based right here in Madison. If you’re accepted into their 12-week program, you could get $100,000 in funding, plus mentorship and investor connections. It’s a solid way to break out of the local bubble and reach a wider market.
2. StartingBlock Madison
Think of this as a co-working space meets startup community. It’s a place where founders support each other, share ideas, and grow side by side. Whether you need help hiring, pitching investors, or protecting your IP this is a place where those conversations are happening daily.
3. Madworks Accelerator
This one offers early-stage startups grants, coaching, and real-world startup methods. A well-known company, EnsoData, came out of Madworks. They use AI to analyze sleep data for better health outcomes. Not bad, right?
4. gBETA Madison
This is a free 7-week program for early-stage founders. Free. As in zero dollars. If you’re a technical founder or a solo inventor, gBETA is a great way to learn what it actually takes to turn your idea into a business. Because a patent is just one piece of the puzzle.
5. University Research Park
This is part of UW–Madison and focuses on tech, biotech, and engineering startups. Companies like FluGen started here they’re working on next-gen flu vaccines. If your idea has a science or tech angle, this is where you want to be.
