Sylvie Sun is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She earned her B.S in biochemistry and her Ph.D. in experimental medicine from McGill University, and a J.D. from Suffolk Law School. Sylvie is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar.

Before her career as a patent attorney, Sylvie worked as a researcher in the biomedical field. Her research concentrated on diabetes, metabolic syndromes, and oncology. During her postdoctoral studies at Boston Children’s Hospital, she investigated the molecular mechanisms that contribute to fatty liver in diabetes. Sylvie is deeply passionate about innovations in life sciences and drug development. She wants to apply her scientific and legal training to help inventors succeed.

Sylvie is an expert in conducting patentability searches and freedom to operate analyses. She also leverages her experience in patent litigation to offer comprehensive infringement risk assessments to her clients. She has successfully drafted and prosecuted patent applications for medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and materials.
