One of the most misunderstood aspects of of hipaa is that potential hippo violations are very expensive and this is something that new practice owners can be exposed to huge amounts of liability tens of thousands of dollars per infraction and um it’s its own beast so we really recommend that our clients work with a dedicated um managed it or managed it consultancy firm to get their networks set up to get their data storage set up so that they’re in compliance with hipaa you can’t just use your run-of-the-mill geek squad so to speak to set up your your internet and your record storage and things like that you need to make sure that you’re fully compliant because the um the fines penalties are so steep
