Sylvie Sun is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office who specializes in drafting and prosecuting patents across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical fields. She is also skilled in conducting IP due diligence, freedom-to-operate (FTO) assessments, and patentability analyses to support business development, licensing, and IP-driven transactions.
Sylvie earned her B.S. in biochemistry and her Ph.D. in experimental medicine from McGill University, and a J.D. from Suffolk Law School. She is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar.
Before her career as a patent attorney, Sylvie worked as a researcher in the biomedical field. Her research concentrated on diabetes, metabolic syndromes, and oncology. During her postdoctoral studies at Boston Children’s Hospital, she investigated the molecular mechanisms that contribute to fatty liver in diabetes. Sylvie is deeply passionate about innovations in life sciences and drug development. She wants to apply her scientific and legal training to help inventors succeed.
